Howdy! As you should know, since you clicked on my link, my name is Fred Schroeder. Don't let the beard fool you. My political views are most defiantly to the right of center. I'm just too lazy to shave every day.
Before I forget to mention it (or before you get bored and leave) please sign the guest book. If you are concerned about putting your e-mail address out on the 'net just use a fake one. I'd just like to hear your comments about the site. Thanks!!
Although I was born in 1953 and grew up in the '60s I have little love for that time period. I have been married (to the same person!!!) since 1975. We were blessed with a son in 1989. People wonder why we waited so long to have a child. I always tell them that we were waiting to see if we could live together without one killing the other. Actually, considering the astounding number of "throw away" marriages these days, most people would be better off waiting longer to have kids. I certainly believe that it would be better for the children.
Three years were spent in the service of the United States Army. I enlisted in 1972 with a draft number of 346. Obviously, I feel that military service should be a part of every young mans life. Anyway, it was quite an interesting experience. An excellent education in electronics has done wonders for my ability to make a living. Plus, I spent a year and a half in the beautiful country of Thailand. It was a truly incredable experience.
In the years following my exodus from the Army, I have made my living working in the world of Industrial Electrical and Instrumentation. Presently, I am employed by the U.S. Government. Specifically the Dept. of Veterans Affairs.
I am a Life Member of the National Rifle Association and an ardent supporter of the Second Amendment. Anyone who doesn't believe that it was written for the people to keep and bear arms should do some reading. I suggest the papers written by James Madison and the other framers of the Constitution. They make it quite clear why this Amendment was added. I can assure you it wasn't for the Government or the National Guard!
The Masonic Lodge plays a large part in my life. I am a Past Master of Lone Star Lodge #403, Past High Priest of Denison Chapter #138, Past Thrice Illustrious Master of Denison Council #83, and Past Commander of Denison Commandery #24 all located in Denison, Texas.
Photography, woodworking, and a Datsun 2000 Roadster also make demands on my time. There simply are not enough hours in the day!
